The THREAD (Together for Hope, Resilience, Empowerment And Development) Project is a fair-trade sewing cooperative housed at Imago Dei Middle School in downtown Tucson. THREAD provides very low-income refugees the opportunity to sew all-cotton face masks at home, earning much-needed income and keeping our community safe. To date, the project has given away more than 16,000 masks to healthcare workers, tribal members, and others.

Proceeds go directly to participants, and to cover materials. THREAD has put more than $100,000 directly into Tucson’s economy to date.

THREAD is a covid-response project of Imago Dei Middle School, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Santa Theresa Tileworks is a wholly owned subsidiary of Imago Dei Middle School.
