Last year’s concert was so successful that we’ve expanded it into a gala event this year: a concert with a multimedia show, and an arts and crafts exhibition to round out the festivities.
The historic Temple of Music & Art, 330 S. Scott Avenue, hosts this year’s concert at 2:00pm, Sunday, May 18. Tucson’s finest professional musicians, actors and artists deliver a spectacular program of chamber music, narrated compositions and original, hand-painted illustrations. Songs by American composer Charles Loeffler, the epic Brahms Clarinet Quintet and Mahler’s tender and profound Kindertotenlieder begin the concert, followed by The Princess and the Frog,an amusing and beautiful composition for children by renowned local violinist Michael Fan. Finally, we present Prokofiev’s magical Peter and the Wolf, narrated by acclaimed actor David A. Johnston and illustrated with original paintings by internationally recognized artist Kimberly Lund.
Tickets are $75, $50 and $25 dollars (contributions are tax deductible) and all proceeds benefit Imago Dei. Click to purchase your tickets now, or for information about how you can get involved as an underwriter, call Dr. Kevin Justus of Bella Carita at 520-327-8407.
